Windtech worked with BVN, 3XN, and Multiplex on the New Sydney Fish Market, a flagship harbour project in the Blackwattle Bay precinct. The development includes a four-storey market hall, public open space, restaurants, cafes, fishmongers, specialty food retailers, and visitor amenities.

Windtech provided wind engineering services from design development through detailed design, including long-span roof structural loads, facade pressures, outdoor wind comfort, solar reflectivity, and door-operability studies.

Wind Tunnel Testing

The distinctive wave-shaped, scale-patterned roof required detailed testing using a 1:300 scale model. This allowed design pressures and structural load cases to be developed for a building form that could not be addressed adequately by standard code methods alone.
