Windtech Director Tony Rofail was commissioned by the Australasian Wind Engineering Society in February 2023 to help develop a Quality Assurance Manual for full-scale wind testing. The committee included Windtech directors and associates along with representatives from the Cyclone Testing Station, CPP, Insol, MEL, and Mott MacDonald.

The document was completed in January 2024 and adopted by the AWES Executive Committee in May 2024. It addresses minimum requirements for full-scale testing of building envelope components and architectural features.

Manual Outline

The manual covers wind tunnel tests for aerodynamic shape factors, full-scale testing for cladding and architectural elements, instrumentation, data quality, reporting, and interpretation. Windtech continues to participate in technical committees that shape wind engineering practice internationally.
